About the Event

This will be the 9th year that Van Gaalen Cheese Farm hosts one of the best family fun and team building mountain bike events in South-Africa. The participants camp on Van Gaalen Cheese Farm and for 24 hours ride either as individuals or in teams of 2, 4 or 6 - 8 riders. The individual or team that rides the greatest number of laps in their category will be the winner. It is an event where young and old ride together with great comradery. At night there are campfires on route for atmosphere and safety.

Come join one of the most interactive and social MTB events of the year! The 24 Hour is a mountain biking event suitable for the whole family.

The 24 Hour @ Van Gaalen race consists of a 12km lap route. Riders compete around the clock to ride as many laps as possible within 24-hours. Whether you are an experienced rider or a novice, this event is designed to accommodate all with a social flowing route!

How to Enter:

Visit to enter. Online Entries Close 20 October 2021 Registration and Late Entries Open @ 7:00am Sat 23 October 2021 Facilities: Free Camping facilities for all riders/Runners (First come first serve) Restricted space for only 450 participants – social distancing must be strictly adhered to. Food & Drinks available @ The Transition

Zones: Supplement table at the cross-over point. Bathrooms and hot showers available for all riders. Charging Station for Lights and Phones etc. @ Transition Zone


Be self-sufficient (no electricity points in the Campsite) Responsible for your own lighting for both your bike and Campsite. No open Fires please. Gas Braais are allowed.
